Well, things just got ugly.

While working on a fresh, easier to use, design with new features, I saved a rejected version of the index page on top of the local copy of the good one and then administered a 'coup de grace' by uploading the mistake, which clobbered my remaining good copy.

That's another lesson learned the hard way. It's going to take some time to get things squared away again, so please bear with me. The net result will be a much more useful web site.
