Was the neuroverse designed?
As I look at these two photos, I am inspired to consider that the two probably had the same designer. After all, if a design works, it is normal for a human designer to work out variations of it and apply these variations to additional projects. Why not the designer of the universe?
Additionally, there is grist for a sci-fi book in here based on the possibility that the universe itself might be a cogitative being and all we can see are the nearest neurons. This would mean that we, the ‘highest’ life form are much, much further down the food chain than we thought. At most, it would appear that we have the ability to destroy a single neuron … the one we are sitting on. More likely, we will sicken it and a phage will come along to clean us out.

That is such a neat premise that I’d be surprised if someone hasn’t already written on it. But if not, (or if their story sucked) start writing, Bill. I think you’re on to something. Use Dark Room.

Um yeah … in my spare time.
I just got back from Aruba yesterday and stepped off the plane into a hornets nest. I still have several posts from Aruba to work on, customers from my other businesses to catch up with and some of the individuals I need to deal with on a more personal level apparently are not pleased that I took that vacation … yadda, yadda, yadda.
“Doing the right thing” and being “a nice guy” are not as simple and straightforward as they might sound. Ah well, onward through the fog.
I am SO tempted to buy another ticket to Aruba and just make it a one-way.
