Blueprint for making a blog go viral Blueprint for making a blog go viral

http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?blueprints/misc/machinen-krieger/22665/view/gans_pz_spah_1124/ You actually have two choices: the one will work you to death and the other will not. The one that does not work you to death will yield better results, but may require that you be a better sort of person than before. That’s right … we’re in for a personalitectomy.

I just ordered a pizza I just ordered a pizza

Sometime back, I used to manage a store for the RPM franchise of Dominos Pizza, an absolutely huge chain of stores spread across several states. At one point I think they had roughly 800 stores across several states … including all the stores in Chicago, IL. They were a first class operation in a hundred different ways. In my first accounting period with the company I made the 100/100 Club, the franchises’ second highest award. This award is based on both service and product quality to a mystery shopper (each store gets several and they are rotated often).

I mention this just to point out that I am

The Other Night, Dear The Other Night, Dear

I was up in the wee small hours of the morning watching, of all things, the news. The local newscast spent several very expensive minutes bringing Detroiters an important story with monumental consequences. Specifically, a local strip club was having a party to celebrate President-elect Barack Obama’s victory. Other than being almost two weeks late, does anything else strike you as odd about this?

The Path Left Taken The Path Left Taken

As I write this, I am in Bloomington, MN and the temperature is presently 15 deg. F. with 1-3” of snow forecast overnight. To be quite frank, I say “bring it”. My sons have spent years telling me just how rough and tough Minnesota winters are and I’ve yet to see anything worse here than I’ve seen back in Michigan – black ice and all. It’s 12:30 a.m. on December 19, 2008 and so far there’s been nary a flake. If this snow is going to happen tonight, it needs to get cracking.

You are already rich if … You are already rich if …

You didn’t go to bed hungry last night

… because there was no food for you to eat. Each year millions of people earnestly diet because there is too much food available to them. Each year, millions die for lack of the essential rudiments of an adequate diet. They aren’t lazy. They work hard for the little they get. But the quality of their food is poor and its quantity wholly inadequate. Or, stated even more simply, calories in minus calories out is a negative number for too long.

You didn’t sleep outside against your will.

What you do in the privacy of your own campsite or backyard is up to you. But, last night millions of people slept outdoors because they had nowhere else to lay their head. If you had that choice, count yourself rich. Each year in America, the most affluent nation the world has ever known, hundreds die of exposure to winter weather. Tis the season to be jolly. Yeah, right. Whatever. It’s 3° F at 10 p.m. in Bloomington, MN tonight. Whattaya wanna bet some poor sucker freezes to death in this city (host to Mall of America) tonight, December 17, 2008?

Free Guest Posts (Or Kittens, Your Choice) Free Guest Posts (Or Kittens, Your Choice)

Help me find the creator of this shot so I can give proper credit.Just a short offer to write a guest post of 200 to 2,000 words for your blog.

I’m looking for an inbound ‘do-follow’ link to a related post on my blog(s). It is my aim to write at least one guest post per week in 2009. I’ll match your existing blog writing voice or bring mine, you choose.

I am also looking for bloggers (and others) to write a guest post for this blog.

I would like to open the floor each Monday to a guest author so as to provide a slightly different point of perspective for my readers to consider. The preferred topic would be ‘current events’ from pretty much any perspective. Don’t bother to submit hateful stuff or indulge in profanity; it will get spiked, but almost anything else will be okay.

If you don’t know me FTF, contact me @ bill @ nmwoodworks dot com and we’ll work something out. – Bill

AP funnies AP funnies

“We are not trying to sue bloggers,” Mr. Kennedy said. “That would be the rough equivalent of suing grandma and the kids for stealing music. That is not what we are trying to do.” New York Times

This just struck my funny bone … hard. Jim Kennedy, an Associated Press VP, while apparently trying to distance the Associated Press from a draconian interpretation of the “fair use doctrine” regarding material published by them, took a shot at the RIAA which has, in fact, sued “grandma and the kids” for so-called ‘music piracy’.

Er, “grandpa”. But you get my point.
