ScribeFire fails

Blog Editors, Firefox, Microsoft, Software, Web Admin

This is what I saw on the screen that caught my eye. It was as if the heavens had opened and a dispensation been granted.

Allowing posting simultaneously to multiple blogs

At first, I thought that our good friends at ScribeFire must have read my mind! I maintain multiple blogs and there are many times when a post would work equally well for two or more of them. At the moment I can post to multiple blogs only by posting to them sequentially. This is a waste of my time.

Oh, wait a second. That announcement is dated July 8, 2007 and is nearly a year old. If that feature made it into ScribeFire, I sure can’t find it. This looks like Microsofts’ tactic of ‘announce first, code later’.

Color me disappointed. Not just because ScribeFire ‘pulled a Microsoft’, but because I am accustomed to Open Source software leading the innovation dance. IMHO, Windows Live Writer is currently the better blog editor. WLW is not perfect … far from it … and it doesn’t have this feature, either. But it does have better support for graphics and it is at least as easy to use as ScribeFire.

This feature was offered for version 1.4.1. I am using 2.2.5. Where is it?
